My Macaroni Mama Minute


HAPPY PACK RAT DAY, EVERYONE!!!  Seriously, could May have any more daily, weekly, or monthly observances?  (I've counted over 65.)  Well, I am a self-admitted pack rat, but hoping to make progress on that some day soon!

What a wonderful week it was last week celebrating family and mom.  I'm blessed with a wonderful family who took care of me (breakfast in bed! :), and let me decide what we did all day long.  (Butterfly show in the rain!  Italian for dinner. Orange Leaf for dessert.)

Our little one is known for lots of super fun things and some not so fun... knee scrapes! Oh yeah, if there is a sidewalk to be run down you will catch our 4 year old running at full speed. After several incidents in which we grabbed anything we could find to wipe the area clean we realized we needed a First Aid Kit in the car... then we realized (after an incident involving a piece of glass at the local lake and her tiny foot) we needed even more ...

With the weather breaking and summer upon us, there is no better time for a bike ride! But before you let your little ones hop on, make sure their top is properly guarded for safety.

Every year nearly 300,000 children end up in the hospital emergency room from bike injuries, some of them to the head. Wearing a helmet doesn't stop children from being reckless, but it does provide some protection for their head and brain in the event of a fall.

33rd annual festival based on the German tradition of welcoming the first Spring wines. Held each year in the historic neighborhood of Mainstrasse Village,  Maifest was again named one of the "Top Ten Festivals in Kentucky" by the Kentucky Tourism Council.  Opening Parade, Ceremony and Maibock Keg Tapping on 5/18 @6pm.
